TYPES

Pure pursuit: The attacker points directly at the opponent’s aircraft, staying locked on their tail.

Tailgating: Following another vehicle too closely, often to pressure or intimidate

Tail chase: A general term for following an aircraft closely from behind, often used in dogfighting or intercept missions

Pursuit driving: Law enforcement uses pursuit maneuvers to stay behind a fleeing suspect, maintaining constant pressure until the suspect makes a mistake or is forced to stop

Offensive advantage: Staying on the tail keeps weapons (guns, missiles, or even HEADLIGHTS in driving) aligned with the target

Psychological pressure: Constant chase forces the opponent into defensive maneuvers, draining energy or concentration

Control of engagement: The pursuer dictates pace and direction, waiting for the right moment to strike
